"Ferny Grove State High has been utilising the Koonjewarre Retreat as the base for our Senior Biology Camp for around 10 years. In this time we have found that there is no better place to enable our students to experience the ecology of the rainforest. The surrounding Springbrook National Park is literally seconds away and students can easily walk into the World Heritage listed areas to complete their field studies and become immersed in the wonder of nature. In addition to the proximity to the rainforest, Koonjewarre Retreat also offers excellent value for money. The grounds are always in exceptional condition and the accommodation is always clean and ready for our use. We utilise all the available cabins and rooms, as we have a large group, and students often comment on how good these facilities are. The hall has good IT facilities with a projector and sound, and is large enough to accommodate a variety of activities with a large group of students. The on-site pond also offers opportunities for biological studies. We have always found the staff to be exceptional. David and Kymberley go out of their way to ensure we are well catered for. They are always happy to help in any way they can and we have found them to have the best interest of the school group as their main priority. The food is very good, portions are generous, and they are more than happy to adjust their menus for the ever increasing dietary requirements our students seem to have. Nothing is ever too much trouble for them and we have found their customer services to be outstanding. We intend to keep utilising Koonjewarre Retreat as long as we can. I believe there is no better place to allow our students to experience the natural world at an affordable price."

“Koonjewarre turned out to be a fantastic choice for hosting an international martial arts retreat. My martial arts organisation is called Takumakai Daito-ryu Aiki Jujutsu. We are a traditional Japanese martial art and recently it was Australia‘s turn to host an international gathering. Koonjewarre was the perfect mountain retreat. David was an excellent host who was so flexible, understanding and accommodating. He ensured we had excellent affordable food that was ready when we needed it - even when we had early morning international departures. All participants were thrilled with the location and the services. From practicing martial arts, meditating in the rainforest to partying in the evening. Good times, great venue and fantastic hosts.

"We attended the Koonjewarre Retreat Centre for our annual writing retreat in November 2016. The location was beautiful and the atmosphere was both calming and reenergising. We found the cost affordable, grounds and facilities were well kept and looked after and our requests for extra blankets, desks, space, etc. were all accommodated enthusiastically. The food was always served timely and was homely and wholesome. Rest assured, we will definitely be looking to come back in the future for similar activities."
